【Abstract】 There has been a long history of comparative research on Chinese and Vietnamese languages in a wide range, but unfortunately, the number of comparative studies on Chinese and Vietnamese imperative sentences is limited. The author, basing on the previous achievements of Chinese and Vietnamese imperative sentence’s researches and studies, combining with the modern comparative linguistics theories, has been conducting the comparative analysis and research on Chinese and Vietnamese imperative sentences from the view of syntactic, semantic and pragmatic functions. The contents for comparison of this thesis include the comparison of internal structures and sentence forms between Chinese and Vietnamese imperative sentences. Regarding internal structure of Chinese and Vietnamese imperative sentences, the author starts by comparing their subjects, predicates, modal particles and word order, thereby, pointing out the similarities and differences between them.As for the comparison of sentence forms between Chinese and Vietnamese imperative sentences, the thesis focuses on induction of the parts which construct Chinese and Vietnamese imperative sentences, including verbs, verb phrases, adjectives, adjective phrases, adverbs, modal particles, and hence indicating the shared sentence forms and unique sentence forms between these two languages.Basing upon the comparison of internal structures and sentence forms between Chinese and Vietnamese imperative sentences, the author further analyses two matters, namely, teaching Vietnamese students the Chinese imperative sentences and translation of Chinese imperative sentences into Vietnamese. Upon the basis of survey result, the thesis further analyzes and gives recommendations on the teaching of Chinese imperative sentences to Vietnamese students. Lastly, the author, basing on comparison of Chinese’s literary works and theirs Vietnamese versions, in combination with the analysis of remaining problems which usually happens in translating of personal pronouns, verbs in Chinese and Vietnamese imperative sentence, provides her own views and comments on this topic.
