【Abstract】 Vietnam accessed to the global Internet on November19,1997, after morethan ten-years’ development, Internet of Vietnam is increasingly improving. Alongwith the development of the Internet, lots of network words are appearing on theInternet world of Vietnam, they not only make the vocabulary of Vietnamese richer,but also influence its’ linguistic norms. According to the results of Chinese networkwords research, the network words of Vietnamese are divided into three categories.This paper takes the general network words as object of study and the thirdcategory of network words (or the network chat lingo) as the main research object.Article trys to find out its’ premise of coming out, characteristics, classes, vocabularycomposition, reasons of variance and methods of standardization by description insequence.This paper includes6parts:Chapter1. ExordiumChapter2. Generality about Vietnamese network words.This chapter generally introduces the background, definition andcharacteristics of Vietnamese network words.Chapter3. The categories of Vietnamese network words and comparative study.This chapter will study the Vietnamese network words in detail based on thechapter2and describe the Internet-related jargon and the Internet-related culturalwords and deeply study the network chat lingo to find out its’ characteristics andlaws, then make a simple comparison between the Vietnamese network words andChinese network words.Chapter4. Reasons of variance of Vietnamese network words.Network words is not like traditional words because they are reflection onthings which just recently appeared. This part will study their reasons of variancefrom4aspects:1. The development of society.2. The people who use them.3. Thedevelopment of network words itself.4. Some other reasons.Chapter5. The influence that Vietnamese network words bring outThe highly-speed coming-out of Vietnamese network words enrichesVietnamese vocabulary, makes it convenient for the Netizen, boosts the IT industryof Vietnam at some points, but at the same time it may have bad influence onVietnam’s society. Some advice will be given at the end of this part for the development and standardization of Vietnamese network words.Chapter6. The conclusion.The language materials for reference of this paper mainly come from Internetof Vietnam, and some of them from the T i n T M i Ti ng Vi t (Dictionary OfNew Words Of Vietnamese), Vietnam`s National Conditions Report2012(《越南国情报告2012》) and my Vietnamese friends. This paper maybe is far away from beingperfect for the lack of reference literature, but I still hope it could make somecontributions to research on Vietnamese network words.
